We are joining forces with JetBlue to build a new playground at Richstone and your help is needed to prepare for this exciting day.

In early November this year, volunteers from Richstone Family Center and JetBlue Airways will build a great new place for kids to play in one day... that's right, ONE DAY! The project is in partnership with KaBOOM!, the national non-profit dedicated to giving kids the childhood they deserve by bringing play to those who need it most.

With the guidance of our kaBOOM! Project Manager, the Kids Clubbers made blueprints of their dream playground. Drawings of swings, sandboxes, and even waterslides were submitted to the "Play Committee" for consideration. Creativity in the room was endless and the excitement was real.

With a wonderful opportunity underway, it's important to collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community to successfully turn our dreams into reality!

Here's how YOU can help.

  1. LEND YOUR TOOLS: in order to safely build the playground from the ground up, we need special tools and supplies. Once the project is complete, we will return all items in mint condition. To see our wish list, CLICK HERE.
  2. VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME: it will take the hands of the entire village to complete this project. If you are available on 10/30, 10/31, or 11/1 CLICK HERE to sign up & get started!
  3. DONATE FOOD & WATER: it's important to keep our crew and volunteers hydrated and nourished. If you have any snacks, food, and water to contribute for build day, please email rfcinfo@richstonefamily.org.
  4. GIVE: any amount to help offset additional costs will be greatly appreciated.

In celebration of its 43 year history of helping vulnerable children and families in need throughout the Greater South Bay, the Richstone Family Center will host its 4th Annual Endless Summer Beach Party on the Beach at King Harbor on August 26, 2017. This special celebration honors the Richstone Family Center, our families, and the many volunteers and donors who have worked tirelessly over the years to make our child abuse treatment and prevention programs possible.

As in prior years, the band “Night Owl” will rock the sands of this private beach while guests enjoy a sampling of delectable food, wine, and beer from local purveyors. The evening celebrates the more than four decades of work Richstone has accomplished to treat and prevent child abuse and trauma; strengthen and educate families; and decrease violence in families, schools, and communities. Proceeds raised will support the myriad of services Richstone provides to thousands of abused and at-risk children and families in need each year. This includes a new slate of health and wellness programs that transition families out of crisis, through the healing process, and ultimately build their long-term resiliency. Richstone remains committed to protecting young people by building stable and healthy families, and believes that as a united, educated, and supported community, we can better prevent the abuse, trauma, and neglect of our children.

2016 has been an exciting year at Richstone! We launched new support groups, expanded services and helped so many more children and families. We also partnered with volunteers and local community groups to host family events like a Free Haircut Day, Mother's Day Portraits, and holiday celebrations. Although cuts in government funding caused bumps in the road, you helped us on the road to a successful year. Now as we look forward to 2017, we are excited about what the new year brings and the increased number of children and families we'll help down a path toward healing and hope. :)

60K Match Met: Thanks to your partnership, we successfully reached our goal of $60,000, which was matched by Richstone's board members! We sincerely thank you for supporting the fight to end child abuse and domestic violence.

Help While You Shop! We have partnered up with AmazonSmile AND Rite Aid Foundation's KidCents to make it even easier for you to help Richstone.

AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support Richstone every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to your favorite charitable organization.

KidCents is a program created by The Rite Aid Foundation that allows Rite Aid customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar and donate their change to help support kid-focused charities. Richstone will now be listed as an official KidCents charity on kidcents.com. By rounding up, you are helping us to reach our goals by simply shopping at Rite Aid.

We are looking forward to our partnership with AmazonSmile and The Rite Aid Foundation's KidCents and are excited by the opportunities they brings to our organization and those we help. Please invite your friends and family to participate in the program. Imagine the change that your change can make! Thank you for your support. :)
