Giving Tuesday Now
A Global Day of Unity
#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. It is an opportunity for the world to come together to thank, to give, to help, and to heal.
Since the lockdown, Los Angeles has seen a 40-60% decrease in reported child abuse cases to DCFS. When students are not in school and are without the daily check-ins from their teachers, many child abuse cases go undetected and unreported. Meanwhile, calls to LA County's Domestic Violence hotline have increased 70% over the same month last year.
We know there are children who need our help now more than ever. Please help Richstone continue our critical work to break the cycle of family violence. Although our physical offices are closed, we are continuing to provide:
Teletherapy for individual, couples, and families
Virtual IPV support groups, parenting classes and anger management classes
Emergency food distribution
Virtual home visits for families in our Parents As Teachers program
Doorstep drop-offs of food and supplies for our First 5 and Kids Club Families
With the cancellation of our annual Richstone Walk fundraiser, we need your help now more than ever to keep our services running.
Thank you for joining us in this movement to build a more just + generous world. This work has never been more critical than it is right now.
